Wendover
A rewarding five-hour ramble from Wendover winds through the cool, shady beech woods of the Chiltern Hills, where frequent breaks in the woodland reveal stunning views across the rolling countryside. The route passes through Little Hampden, the historic Chequers estate, climbs to the ancient earthworks of Pulpit Hill Fort, and continues to the picturesque village of Ellesborough, where we aim to stop for cream teas in the church of St Peter and St Paul. Combining peaceful woodland trails, rich history, and sweeping panoramas, this walk offers some of the finest scenery the Chilterns have to offer.
Bring a picnic, plenty of water and walking poles if used, in the event of rain/mud.
